Mitch Heimpel
VICE PRESIDENT, GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
Mitch@YourTexture.com
Mitch Heimpel is one of Canada’s foremost experts in parliamentary procedure and legislative strategy. For more than 15 years, he has been at the centre of high-stakes politics at Queen’s Park and on Parliament Hill.
At Queen’s Park, Mitch guided major reforms through the legislature in the House Leader’s office and Government and Consumer Services. During his time in the Ford government, he also served as Chief of Staff to a Minister and advised on labour negotiations in the education sector. In Ottawa, Mitch served as Director of Parliamentary Affairs to a federal party leader, where he drove the agenda and secured gains for Canadians. Mitch has run Question Period strategy provincially and federally, delivering fresh news cycles in high pressure moments.
Mitch’s expertise is rare. While most lobbyists measure success by landing meetings, Mitch measures it by moving outcomes. He knows every precedent and process, and exactly how to advance issues through cabinet committees, legislative bottlenecks, and procedural windows that others don’t even know exist.
Some of the wins closest to Mitch’s heart include drafting the motion that made Canada the first nation to recognize the Uyghur genocide, helping deliver Ontario’s landmark Anti-Human Trafficking Strategy, working with First Nations partners to reform the province’s child welfare system, and using his personal platform to advocate for change in the culture of junior hockey.
Today, Mitch leads the Government Relations practice at Texture Communications – where his unique mix of deep relationships and procedural mastery help clients turn complex challenges into concrete results. He takes the most challenging files, gets under the hood, and finds the fix. Every time.
Known affectionately by many as “Mitchapedia,” he is a father of two and a lifelong Kitchener Rangers fan.
